PEDDLING PICKPOCKET

Police met with an Ocean House Road resident who reported their wallet was stolen while they were on a bike ride from Portland.

WHERE’S THE FIRE?

A Portland resident was issued tickets totaling more than $400 when he was pulled over for speeding on Route 77. Officers clocked the man’s car at 72 miles an hour in a 45 mile an hour zone and subsequently discovered he did not have vehicle insurance.

SOUTH PORTLAND

AIR SOFT = HARD TIME

Police responded to reports of an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old playing with weapons on Broadway only to discover the weapons were air soft guns. Officers were familiar with the pair, as they had responded to similar reports before, and decided to confiscate the air soft guns.

LEAVING A TRAIL

Officers may have interupted a burglary in progress at a home on Chambers Street. They discovered a 22-inch television at the end of the driveway and money strewn in the front lawn of the house. The homeowner reported that a cell phone and a flashlight were still missing. Police have no suspects.

KIDS

A 12-year old and two 13-year-olds were charged with furnishing, possession, sale and use of illegal drugs after police finished a two-day investigation into allegations the kids were providing their friends with prescription drugs. Officers said the charges relate to a marijuana pipe found on one of the children.

BATTLE OF THE BRIDGE

A man was transported to the hospital after jumping from a moving car on the Veterans Bridge. Officers say the man had a fight with a woman in the car.

ROADBLOCK RAGE

Officers from South Portland and Cape Elizabeth set up a roadblock designed to capture drunk drivers on the Casco Bay Bridge after 10 p.m. July 3. In total, the two departments made six arrests for drunk driving, and two additional arrests. Police said they also arrested a passenger who had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and another man who attempted to interfere with the roadblock while he was walking on the bridge.
