BREAK OUT THE THUMB CUFFS
Police assisted a resident of Rollins Way who reported she was receiving text messages from a man she had filed a protection order against. The 43-year-old man later admitted to sending the messages and was transported to Cumberland County Jail. Officers say he may have spent several hours in custody.
CLUBBED
Police responded to a fight in progress on Deveraux Circle when a resident called to report a man had a club. When officers arrived one man was on the ground and another man was throwing items at him from a second-story window. Officers restored the peace and no complaints were filed.
PRENUP PARKING
Police filed a report of a stolen car when a Chase Street resident called to report her Kia Spectra had been stolen. Officers entered the vehicle into a national database to help track down the thief, only to receive a call from the woman an hour later. She said her fiancé had taken the vehicle without telling her and parked it in a different spot.
HUNGRY THIEF GETS BANDED
Officers arrested a South Portland man who attempted to steal $38 dollars in lobster meat from a supermarket on Cottage Road.
