SOUTH
PORTLAND
GO TOPLESS
Police responded to a report of criminal mischief on Westbrook street when a caller said the top to his Jeep was cut open. Nothing was taken from inside the Jeep.
FENCING
Rescue workers transported a man to Maine Medical Center who suddenly drove off Jetport Plaza Road, through the security fence and onto the runway. Police say the crash was caused by a medical condition.
BLOOD ON THE BRIDGE
An officer noticed a passenger in a car stopped on the Casco Bay Bridge holding his right arm during a traffic stop. He discovered the man was drunk and cut badly from a fight earlier in the night. The man was sent to the hospital.
LOCK IT NEXT TIME
Police filed a report of burglary when the owners of a foreclosed property on Stanford street arrived to discover someone had stolen all the copper piping in the building. Officers suspect the burglars entered through one of several open windows.
BRIDGES ARE FOR DRIVING
A woman was found standing on the outside of the barrier along the Casco Bay Bridge shortly after being admitted to Maine Medical Center for a previous attempted suicide by jumping off the other side of the bridge. Officers say the woman attempted to jump three separate times in 48 hours and was eventually detained.
CAT BURGLARS
Police filed a report of burglary when a woman stepped out of the shower and noticed the shades in an open window were moving. Thinking it was her cat, the woman reached into the shades and discovered two men on the side of the building. The men were scared away when she hollered she was calling the police.
I LIKE YOUR GIRLFRIEND
A man called the police when his drunken Ocean Street neighbor hit on his girlfriend. Officers kept the two men from fighting and restored the peace.
