Letter: Tom Dunne has my support for State Senate (Aug. 8, 2008)
Editor:
I was honored to be the Republican District 7 candidate. My personal situation has changed and I will no longer be the candidate.
I am pleased to introduce my replacement on the ballot, Tom Dunne of Cape Elizabeth. I am more than pleased, actually, because his qualifications are outstanding.
Tom has run a small business, worked as a consultant for global businesses, directed a state agency, managed a social services agency and acted as treasurer for a nonprofit.
With this breadth and depth of experience, Tom developed an appreciation for many points of view while retaining his focus on the critical issues that must be addressed by any organization – small or large business, nonprofit or government.
His first priority as a State Senator would be jobs – restoring the prosperity of Maine’s workers by promoting our state’s strengths and minimizing our weaknesses. First and foremost, Maine people want incomes that will allow them to live without government assistance, and Tom is dedicated to that goal. In addition, he sees many opportunities to improve health care, government spending, and education.
Because Tom has joined the race relatively late in the game, he is going to have to run hard in order to win. Please join me in supporting his efforts. As a Clean Election candidate he requires $5 donations from people who support his candidacy.
Most importantly, please get to know Tom, contact him and ask questions, and talk to your neighbors. He can be reached at thomasjdunne@gmail.com.
