Letter: McCain does not have lock on morals (Printed Nov. 9, 2007)
Editor:
Pitting people against one another culturally to win the election of
President, is immoral. You would think John McCain of all people, after
what he went through, at the hands of Bush and Rove, would stay away
from cheap shots and character assassination. Instead he goes after
Hillary Clinton and takes a mighty swipe at a whole generation, while
calling Clinton unfit to be president because of her Woodstock-style
values. Will someone tell or remind McCain that many of us who attended
Woodstock in 1969, served in the military and many of us fought in
Vietnam. McCain has no monopoly on patriotism or lock on morals,
because he was a prisoner of war. When it suits him, he doesn’t mind
being on the cover of the Rolling Stone.
