Letter: "Mom ist wonderbar!" (Printed May 11, 2007)

Editor:

My name is Johannes Pleschberger, I am an AFS
exchange student from Austria and I would like to wish my host mother,
Beth Barton a very happy Mother’s Day. Since I arrived here in August,
you have made me feel like one of the family. One of my favorite
memories will be our trip to Philadelphia and New Jersey. I am so happy
that your family has made me a part of your lives, and I will remember
this year forever.

AFS-USA works toward a more just and peaceful world
by providing international and intercultural learning experiences to
individuals, families, schools, and communities through a global
volunteer partnership. With the help of a dedicated group of local
volunteers, I have become a member of the Barton family, a student at
Cape Elizabeth High School and part of Cape Elizabeth.

If your family would be interested in welcoming an
exchange student like me, please contact Betsy Nortrup, AFS Downeast
Maine Hosting Coordinator at betsyafs@hotmail.com or get to know AFS in
Maine by visiting our website at afsmaine.org.
