Letter: Is it just idle talk? (Printed April 27, 2007)
Editor:
Physician, heal thyself!
I was happy to read in the April 20 edition that my
state representative, Lawrence Bliss, has proposed a no-idling bill. As
Bliss notes, “idling produces unnecessary pollution that contributes to
climate change and smog, causes health problems, wastes expensive fuel,
and contributes to our dependence on foreign oil.”
Why, then, did I see Rep. Bliss leave his, ahem, SUV
idling the other morning while he went into the bakery in Willard
Square?
