Letter: Concern about negativity in local races (Printed Nov. 3)
Editor:
I am concerned and disappointed at the level of negative campaigning
and dirty tricks that have been occurring in the state and national
political campaigns. I am truly outraged when they appear in our local
city council races.
I hope that citizens see through the malicious statements and that they
will vote for candidates that represent what is best for the people and
the future of the city.
If you hear or read something about a candidate that worries, angers or
upsets you, give that person a call and ask for their side of the
story. It may be a mistake. It may be someone purposely twisting the
facts.
Remember to vote. It a right and a privilege. If you have already
studied the issues and made up your mind, you may vote during business
hours at City Hall now. Save yourself a trip to the polls on Election
Day if it would be helpful to you. You no longer have to be out of town
on Election Day to vote early as an absentee voter.
