Letters: Support for DeAngelis (Three letters printed Oct. 27)

DeAngelis serves the common good

Editor:

South Portland is my home and I love it deeply. That’s why I am urging
my friends and neighbors to join me in voting for Rosemarie DeAngelis
for re-election to the South Portland City Council. She is a person of
deep integrity and caring who represents all the people of South
Portland, making decisions based on what serves the common good rather
than what is most profitable for a few.

She is no power broker; she has no vested interest in city business or
contracts, only a keen interest in protecting the most vulnerable,
providing a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves, and
ensuring quality of life, health, and education for all of the citizens
of our wonderful city.

Let’s re-elect Rosemarie DeAngelis to the South Portland City Council!

Rosemarie DeAngelis is seeking reelection to the City Council in the
upcoming November 7th election. As you go to the polls to vote your
choice, please know that Rosemarie has proven to be councilor of
integrity and conscience when making decisions with regard to
city/school needs and concerns. She is consistently well prepared for
the matter at hand when interacting with council and citizenry. She
demonstrates concern and caring by responding personally and
effectively to all requests made of her in her position as a city
councilor. Decisions are made based on careful research, good sense and
fair consideration and are void of political maneuvering or posturing.

I encourage you to consider casting your vote in Rosemarie’s favor on November 7th.

During the 3 1/2 years my wife and I have lived in South Portland we
have heard much discussion about changing the makeup of the City
Council and Planning Board. It therefore makes no sense to return to
office someone from the old guard.

Rosemarie DeAngelis is clearly one of the most dedicated public
servants we have. As a local school teacher for twenty plus years,
Rosemarie will ensure that we have an advocate for quality education in
South Portland schools.

After attending my sole City Council meeting where I proposed an
alternative to heavy road salting to prevent premature road
deterioration, Rosemarie was the only councilor that came up to me
seeking more information.

Last week’s council meeting was very telling: even though every
councilor expressed disagreement with TABOR, Rosemarie was the only one
willing to stand up and put her stance in the public record.

Rosemarie DeAngelis has clearly demonstrated she is up front and accountable.
