Letters: Bromley deserves another term (Printed Oct. 20)
Editor:
Sen. Lynn Bromley has been a creative and effective leader in Augusta.
She has demonstrated tremendous vision on issues related to education,
the economy, and health care.
Lynn supported legislation that established Maine’s Community College
System, increasing enrollment at South Portland’s Southern Maine
Community College by 42 percent. Sen. Bromley also has been a steadfast
supporter of K-12 funding for public schools in our district by
supporting a $250 million increase in state funding to improve
education while reducing local property taxes.
While the federal government mishandled the implementation of the
Medicare Part D Program, Lynn helped to preserve life-saving
prescription drug coverage for Maine seniors. Sen. Lynn Bromley also
worked to reduce the number of uninsured Mainers by maintaining health
care coverage for small businesses. She was also instrumental in
passing legislation that extends health insurance benefits to retired
firefighters and law enforcement officers.
On the economy, Lynn worked hard to increase economic development
opportunities by expanding access to job training and high-speed
Internet service. She also created the Maine Regulatory Fairness Board
that gives small businesses a voice in the regulatory process.
We are fortunate to have someone of Lynn’s caliber as our state
senator. Sen. Lynn Bromley has clearly earned re-election to another
term in Augusta.

We are writing to ask your consideration in voting to re-elect Senator Lynn Bromley.
We have a great deal of respect for the person Senator Bromley is, and
for the fine job she has done, and we strongly believe she deserves
another term. Education is at the forefront of Senator Bromley’s
agenda. She has worked hard for Maine’s Community College System,
efforts that will pay dividends for our State’s future. Her support for
increases in state funding to improve our schools and reduce local
property tax is also appreciated.
Senator Bromley takes a responsible position on effective tax reform,
rejecting TABOR. Instead, she is working to bring about effective tax
reform that will not cripple schools and services.
We think Senator Lynn Bromley is an experienced senator well suited to the challenges that face Maine’s future.
We hope you will join us in voting for her in November.
Thank you.
