Sentry Sound-off for Aug. 25
The serene scenes on the front of this week’s Sentry belied a stormy state inside.
Two local politicians are implicated in election
shenanigans. Were there laws broken? One allegation involves a personal
loan. Parents are worried the new bus schedule will leave them out in
the cold. Members of the South Portland Land Trust team with
concerned neighbors and set a fund raising goal to purchase the Sawyer
Marsh. The state democratic party is fined $5,000 for not reporting a
mailer touting Lynn Bromley’s legislative accomplishments.
Our Interview of the week is Jeff Badger. Why is he
holding a giant cupcake? Zack reflects on a weekend tragedy in the
Reporter’s Notebook. Our editorial attempts to provide a bit of
background on “The Haskell Affair.” Letter writers are one step ahead
of us on ethics allegations, and school bus policy changes, while one
thinks Fort Williams owner’s should have a say in parking fees and
another thrown in the towel.
Walt is still out there somewhere. Did you Guess where?
Still not satisfied? Check out the Sentry newspaper
